Date and Time –

Transportation Day is set for Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10am – 2pm.

Location-

Transportation Day is hosted by God’s Garden Preschool and Horizon Church, and is located at 1401 East Liberty Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85048 in Ahwatukee. The major cross streets from the freeway at Loop 202 and Desert Foothills Parkway. The event itself is on Liberty Lane, in between Desert Foothills Parkway and 24th Avenue.

Parking –

Free street parking is available along Liberty Lane, or you may park at Kyrene de la Sierra Elementary School (1122 E Liberty Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85048) and take the Kyrene School Bus shuttle to the event. A Kyrene bus will be offering frequent shuttles to and from the event and Sierra Elementary.

Accessibility –

The event is held on the property of God’s Garden Preschool / Horizon Church. Most of the property is paved. The helicopter lands on gravel on the north side of the property.

Admission –

Entry is free. This event is rain or shine so please plan for weather if needed.

Food and Drinks –

We will have a variety of food vendors on site where you can purchase food, drinks, and treats.

Fun Zone –

Our Fun Zone will include a train ride, petting zoo and multiple bounce houses for various ages (ie toddler bounce houses versus bounce houses/obstacle course for older children.) An unlimited Fun Zone wristband can be purchased for a small fee. Fun Zone wristbands are for children only. We will permit one adult per one child to ride the train. Fun Zone wristbands are non-refundable.

Vehicles –

Attendees can view and explore a wide variety of vehicles, including a helicopter, police car, fire truck, garbage truck, motorcycles, racecar, dump truck, school bus and more.

The helicopter will be landing at approximately 10:30am. Please follow volunteer directions and stay back a proper distance until you are advised it is safe to move forward. After landing, families may view inside the helicopter. The helicopter will be leaving at approximately 12pm.

The biplanes will fly over at approximately 11am and will fly overheard a few times.

Vendors/Sponsors –

We will have local vendors on site that feature their goods and services for sale. Thank you for supporting local!

Raffles –

We will have a variety of raffle prizes available. Please consider purchase raffling tickets! Proceeds go back to preschool programming.

Sensory Sensitivities –

Transportation Day will not have a “quiet hour.” If an attendee has sensory sensitivities, it is recommended that they bring noise cancelling headphones to assist them.
